Leadership Impact Assessment
When did you last become strategic about you?
A free, no-obligation 60-minute assessment for leaders, business owners and experienced professionals who are achieving and delivering, but know something needs to change so that the way they lead is sustainable, for them as well as for everyone relying on them.
Take a step back from the day-to-day, look at five important areas of your leadership and working life, and leave knowing where to focus your time, energy and attention next.
Perhaps there are a few too many "overs" in your life right now...
Overwhelmed. Overthinking. Over-giving. Over-responsible.
And maybe a few "unders" too.
Under-valued. Under-supported. Under-rewarded. Under-fulfilled.
Yet, from the outside, you may still look like you're doing brilliantly.
You're delivering. You're dependable. You're getting things done. People come to you because they know you'll sort things out.
And that's partly the problem.
Because when you're capable of carrying a lot, you can carry too much for a very long time.
Until eventually that voice inside starts saying:
This isn't working for me anymore.
It doesn't necessarily mean you want to walk away from everything you've created.
It might simply mean that the way you're working, leading or living hasn't caught up with who you are now, what matters to you now, or where you want to go next.
You think strategically every day. When did you last do it for yourself?
As a leader, you probably spend a considerable amount of time thinking strategically about your organisation, business, team, clients, projects or the people who depend on you.
But when did you last step back and apply that same thinking to yourself?
Not squeezing another task into your diary. Actually stopping long enough to look at the bigger picture.
What's working?
What's not?
What do you want instead?
How much of your time do you spend feeling truly lit up?
And where would focusing your attention make the biggest difference now?
That's what the Leadership Impact Assessment gives you the space to explore.
Even if you have done thisor something similar before, its never a one and done exercise. The context we operate in changes, WE change, and we have to update our Strategy to match.
How the assessment works
A structured 60-minute conversation, online, just the two of us.
- We look at five areas of your leadership and working life. For each one, I'll ask you to rate it from 1 to 10, why you chose that number, what a 10 would look like for you, and why it isn't a 10 right now.
- You do most of the talking. I guide the conversation, keep us on track and write down what you say, in your words.
- At the end, I reflect back the two or three areas that matter most, so you can hear your own priorities out loud.
If you think it sounds simple, it is. You could look at those five areas on your own quite easily. The magic and the insight comes from the conversation. From speaking it out loud and having someone else witness it.
You don't need to prepare anything. Just show up. There's no score to pass, and whatever you share stays between us.
The five areas we'll explore
Mission & Focus
Your bigger mission, what matters most now, and where your time, attention and priorities are actually going.
Impact
The contribution you want to make, your influence and visibility, and the difference you're creating.
People
The people around you, your relationships, team and support, and the responsibilities you're carrying.
Energy
Your capacity, wellbeing, time and headspace, and how sustainable your current way of working feels.
Results
The progress, outcomes, reward and return you're experiencing from everything you're putting in.
What you'll come away with
- An honest picture of where you are now, including what's working as well as what isn't
- Your two or three priority areas, so everything doesn't feel equally urgent
- A sense of what you actually want, rather than simply what you're trying to get away from
You'll leave knowing what matters most now.
Sometimes you need to get outside your own thinking.
You may already be highly self-aware.
You may journal, reflect, read, listen to podcasts, work with coaches or be perfectly capable of coming up with solutions yourself.
But it's difficult to be inside your own thinking and outside it at the same time.
When you're close to something, the thing that feels like the problem isn't always the thing that most needs your attention.
"I need to manage my time better."
"I need to be more confident."
"I need to sort my team out."
"I just need to work harder and get through this."
Maybe.
Or perhaps there's something else underneath.
Often what sits underneath is about identity: how you see yourself, and the unwritten rules you've been following about what a good leader, a capable professional or a dependable person has to be.
My job on this call is to listen, capture what you say and reflect it back to you. Hearing your own words from someone else is often when the real priority becomes obvious.
Where this comes from
The Leadership Impact Assessment is a simplified version of the intake process I've used with my 1:1 clients for years. I've brought it down to five areas, because any more becomes overwhelming. I now use it at the start of client work and again towards the end, so we can see what's changed.
I'm offering it as a free, no-obligation conversation because I believe there's real value in taking a step back and seeing your situation as it is.
At the end, you may decide you've got exactly what you needed and take things forward yourself.
You may decide you'd benefit from some support.
And we may discover that I'm the right person to provide it.
If I believe I can help, I'll explain what working together could look like. If I don't believe I'm the right person, I'll tell you that too.
There is no obligation to work with me afterwards.
This could be for you if...
You're a leader, business owner or experienced professional at a point where something is shifting. You might be:
- stepping into a new leadership role or greater responsibility
- leading an important project, team or transformation
- growing or changing your business
- reconsidering what you want from your career
- achieving plenty but increasingly questioning the cost
- feeling pulled in too many directions and losing sight of the bigger picture
- ready for something to change, but not yet sure what that change needs to be
You don't need to be in crisis.
In fact, things may look pretty good from the outside.
This is for the moment when you know there is a gap between where you are and where you want to be, even if you can't yet put your finger on exactly what needs to change.
Who will you be talking to?
Lisa Birtles FCIPD
I'm a leadership and transformation strategist, executive coach and people professional. I've spent 34 years working with leaders, teams and organisations through large-scale change, 26 of them as certified coach.
My work brings together strategic insights, deep listening and aligned action.
My mission is to help people shine by learning to trust what they know, find the courage to act on what matters, and direct their ambition toward meaningful growth.
I'm not interested in telling you how you "should" lead your life, career or business. I'm much more interested in helping you step back, look at the bigger picture and make choices that fit you.
You don't have to wait until everything falls apart before you take a step back.
If you're holding a lot and recognising the signs that something needs to change,
give yourself an hour to look at the bigger picture.
